Dessu Fall Winter 2013 Preview

Dessu is yet another ode to my love of minimalism. I think my favorite piece of this lookbook is the drop waist dress (and of course I love the blazer with matching pants). Clearly clean lines with an interesting texture is a way for a garment to win my heart over.

After seing this collection I knew I had to get in touch with the designer. I was lucky enough to get a reply from Angie who sent me a description about her latest collection and a short bio!

Launched for Spring 2013 based in NYC, Dessu was created for the girl who likes to blend refinement and ease by being dressed up in a laid-back way. This Fall 2013 collection draws inspiration from the idea of an underground garden. A protective outer shell is punctured with geometric openings which allow small shafts of light into the dark underground. Thus the garden grows even in the darkness. 

Designer Angie Suh earned a degree in Architecture and worked in the industry for a few years before transitioning into fashion. Architecture remains a foundation for much of her clothing design-emphasizing shape and volume, silhouette and proportion. 

 After studying Fashion Design at both Parsons and FIT, Angie gained 7+years of experience designing for Yigal Azrouel, TSEsay, and Alice + Olivia. Dessu is a very personal expression of her design aesthetic, where all the things she loves about design, across both fashion and architecture come together.
