Plomo Shoes Fall 2012

Plomo shoes are truly stunning. As you can probably tell by now I am a big fan of clean lines... especially with shoes. Plomo's Fall 2012 does just the trick for me. Here is a little about the inspiration behind the Fall 2012 line.

While planning her wedding in the magnificent gardens of Hacienda Tekit del Regil in Merida, Mexico, Galia (one of the two women who started the brand) found herself surrounded by tremendous beauty molded by an ancient culture. Haciendas dating back to the 17th century create a magical and unique combination of intricate French architecture and local Mayan design. Gaila was enchan- ted by these amazing structures set against lush tropical jungles, blossoming with native flora and fauna, as well as by the pink flamingo waters of the Celestun River and the fiery Quintana Roo sunsets. She now understands why the local citizens, yucatecos, go through life with smiles on their faces, even with the heavy rains that end almost as suddenly as they begin.

The dark earth tones and natural terra cotta pig- ments draw from Galia’s experiences with the Mayan culture, as playful fringes. In designing this collection, Galia and Keltse centered on solid masculine structures like chunky heels and platforms, not to mention the variety of laced oxfords and flats, but without losing a sleek and sexy feminine side—making an appearance in the vibrant colors, pointed toes, and curvy silhouette. Much like the hacien- das, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection creates a distinctively glorious combination of native and foreign elements, as well as of traditional and modern.

Victoria Horning Shoes

I'm totally lusting after Victoria Horning's footwear line. I am super attracted to the sleek and powerful minimalism in each design. The colour palette is kind of amazing... Here's a little about the designer!

Horning originally launched her first collection in 2011 focusing on handbags. Her experience in shoe design began in Italy, made a pit stop at J.Crew as an assistant footwear designer. Her first line of high end footwear focuses on clean, sophisticated lines and an emphasis on beautiful leather and material. Each pair is hand crafted in one of the oldest shoe factories in Italy, made from authentic Italian leathers and hand-made wooden heels. Each style is meant to bring a day-to-night wearability to my customer.

Shoe Porn: Dublin, Ireland

I saw some seriously cool shoes while in Dublin in May. I felt super creepy shooting peoples feet on the fly so I only managed to get a couple shoe shots. (Not to mention, walking with a camera pressed to your face while trying to capture someones moving feet is super dangerous for someone clumsy as me). But, I assure you, Dublin is a happening place for shoes.

I'm obsessed with the comic book brogues. They're ridiculous and probably shouldn't be allowed out in public... like me. I then found a more mature pair of boots. The subtle nature of the "spurs" on these boots are to die for. I can't wait to do my own DIY take on spurs this fall. I'm thinking some fun base metal chain could be an easy way to spruce up boots from last season.

I am thinking that hunting for street style shoe porn is going to be my new hobby. ;)

Hello beautiful shoes, why don't I own you?

The first two are Jeffrey Campbell (Mary Roks, Solestruck), the last is Kork-Ease. I'd really like to get all 3, but the practical part of me says just splurge on the last ones...

FW 2010 Shoes of Balenciaga

If you haven't checked out the Balenciaga FW 2010 collection yet, you MUST. It sports signature Balenciaga shoulders, but bold colours that have only been a feature of the past few collections. His colours in this collection go from electric blue and teal to orange. It's a collection that I'm in love with again. It reminds me why I ALWAYS keep Balenciaga at the very top of my list.

Because I would most likely post the ENTIRE FW 2010 collection on here if I was selecting pieces, I decided to restrict myself to the shoes. Enjoy. I think they are exquisite!

Remember this post? I think teal is going to be hot this fall.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I really, truly, appreciate it.

A Disaster Waiting to Happen

I it wrong that I want clogs? Maybe it's because of Chanel, or the fact I was a 90's child... but I feel some strong yearning to own clogs. I don't even know if I could walk in them, or if they'd be comfortable. Clogs are supposed to be good for you back, but I doubt that's the case when you add a 5 inch heel to them. Anyway, if you're interested, the Chanel-like clogs are (of course) by Jeffrey Campbell. The other pair is Steve Madden.

Now the only question is, Jeffrey Campbell in nude or black...

I seriously wish I was some place warm. The snow is beautiful, and I'm on my 3rd snow day in a row, which I think is probably pretty rare for Uni, but still... I wish I was free of all my school work and running around in some warm city. Sigh. The spring weather seems millions of miles away... As does a break from school.

dreaming cutouts

Just in case my latest posts haven't satisfied your show cravings, maybe these metallic cutouts by Nicholas Kirkwood will. The good news? These are actually being sold in Browns right now. The bad news? They're £995.00. I know, it hurts.

flying away on a black feather

Roksanda Ilincic's Spring RTW 2010 collection is breath taking. But instead of posting the collection here, I decided to show you the stunning shoes that were worn at the show. While the shoes are very structured.. in almost a cold way, they mix warm metallic and a soft sparkle along with some feathers to really soften the look. Simply stunning. If only I could get my hands on ANYTHING from this collection.

The metallics really look good with every skin tone. Oh yeah, I'm back in NY. I did some Christmas present shopping (for myself, lol) at Century 21. I can't WAIT to show you all what I got!

On another note, I have a pair of shoes in a similar style to those above that I'm looking to sell, HERE. They're a size 9 US. Let my know if you're interested by emailing me at christinaooi@gmail.com. I have more photos and information about the shoes. Happy Holidays.
